Hey everyone, I was thinking about how Antonio Madeira's case brings up interesting questions about making cities dementia-friendly. A lot of seniors with early signs of dementia can become disoriented, even in familiar places. I've read that small urban changes, like better signage and community support initiatives, can make a huge difference for those at risk of wandering. Given the possibilities that Mr. Madeira might have gotten confused on his walk, maybe it’s time we start looking into more systematic solutions for other families in similar situations. I wonder if there are communities already doing this well. It could be something worth discussing or advocating for in Toronto. Anyone else have thoughts or experiences related to this? Stay safe and hope all is well.
