Hey everyone, I recently came across the case of Anthony "Junior" Malinak, who mysteriously disappeared during a fishing trip in the Madawaska Valley back in '76. I've been trying to piece together a timeline of his last known movements, and something doesn't quite add up about the boat's location. The boat was found in just about a foot of water at the eastern end of Lost Lake. I'm no expert, but wouldn't a boat that's being used for fishing or leisure be more likely to drift towards the center of the lake where deeper waters are? And if the boat was possibly stationary, why was it left in such shallow water? This makes me wonder if the boat was purposely placed there, or if some natural occurrence caused it to end up in such a spot. Does anyone have insight into the geography and natural water movements in Lost Lake during that time of year? Was it possible for strong currents or wind patterns to push a vessel that far towards the shore? Trying to understand if external factors could explain the positioning of the boat or if there's more that wasn’t evident in the original investigation. Hoping someone with local knowledge or experience in lake conditions can shed some light on this!
