Fernand Martin, also known as Fernand Boutin, was 35 when he was last seen on April 24, 1964, at an outpost on the north end of Pakashkan Lake in the Thunder Bay District of Ontario. He had gone into the surrounding bush to tend traplines; the official record does not list anyone accompanying him or identify any specific event that raised alarm during that visit. After that sighting he vanished and was never accounted for.

Records describe him as a white male, about 5 feet 10 inches and 181 pounds, medium build, dark complexion, with brown hair. At the time he was reportedly carrying or wearing a backpack, a light doe-skin or other light animal-skin jacket, and a size 33 shirt with a 15.5-inch neck. The file does not include eye color, scars, tattoos, whether belongings were recovered, the route he planned, or details of any searches.

The case is listed with the Ontario Provincial Police under reference RM05023523 and remains active in the national missing-person system. Does anyone have memories of Martin, knowledge of the outpost at Pakashkan Lake, or information about his traplines?
