Michael James McIntyre, 36, vanished from his Round Lake home in Hagarty Township, Ontario on the evening of April 7, 1994. He had moved to the area from Fort McMurray, Alberta in December 1993 and lived with his father. He walked out of the house without speaking and was never seen again.
McIntyre left behind all personal effects — clothing, vehicle, wallet, money, credit cards and even the solution for his glass left eye — suggesting he did not plan to be gone long. He is described as a white male, 6 feet 2 inches, 190 pounds, with short brown hair, blue eyes, a glass left eye, a scar over his eyebrow and a frecklelike birthmark from his right elbow to his hand. He was believed to be wearing a brown leather jacket, blue jeans and a brown braided leather belt that night.
The Ontario Provincial Police conducted extensive searches, including an Underwater Search and Recovery Unit sweep of Round Lake, and interviewed friends, family and neighbours, but found no leads. Does anyone in the area remember Michael in 1994 or have information that could help explain his sudden disappearance?
