I’ve been following the case of Phillip McKay, the fisherman who went missing from Sandy Bar Bay back in 2003, and something has always seemed strange to me. Does anyone else find it odd that no trace of Phillip or his belongings have ever been found? I know the official stance is that he drowned, but usually, some personal effects or even a part of the wreck are recovered eventually. The area isn't reputed to be particularly treacherous or deep, so is it just bad luck, or could something else have happened after the boat capsized? It just feels strange that there has never been any sign of him or his equipment in all these years. I've always wondered if there might have been more to this case. Is it possible that strong currents or something else could have carried him further away from the site? Or could objects from the scene have been buried in sediment at the lake bottom? Nature is unpredictable, but it feels like there’s a missing piece in this puzzle. Would love to hear what others think about the odds of nothing being recovered after all this time.
