I was going through some old newspaper archives and noticed that right around the time Gordon Mertz disappeared, there was a lot of coverage about unusual currents affecting the fisheries in Newfoundland and Labrador. As a Fisheries Scientist, maybe Gordon was involved in some research or stumbled upon something significant that could explain why he might have been in the area over the weekend? It's interesting how the human mind works in mysterious ways, especially with memory gaps over the years. Does anyone else think there's a connection between his work and his disappearance? I know it's all speculation, but given his profession and the timing, it makes me wonder if there's more to the story related to his field. Sometimes the tiniest detail can spark a whole new line of inquiry, so if anyone else knows more about his research or has any insights, it could potentially open up new avenues to explore.
