Harley John Metherel was 31 when he made a long-distance call home on Christmas Eve 1980 from Vancouver, British Columbia. During that call he asked for money; his family sent a transfer but the funds were never picked up. That phone call is the last known contact anyone had with him.

Harley was described as slender, 68 inches tall and about 130 pounds, with long brown hair, blue eyes and a sallow complexion. The reason for his trip to the West Coast and why he needed money are not known. The Peterborough County OPP has kept his file open but investigators report no further leads and the trail went cold after that final call.

Did anyone in Vancouver or along the route between Vancouver and Peterborough remember seeing Harley or hear from him after December 24, 1980?
