Angela Carmen Pitseolak Meyer was 22 when she vanished from Yellowknife on November 27, 2010. She was an inpatient at the psychiatric ward of Stanton Territorial Hospital being treated for schizophrenia and had been given a weekend pass to stay with family on 54th Street. At about 1:20 P.M. she stepped outside for a cigarette and did not return.
Angela is five feet ten inches, medium build, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, yoga pants, a new white Helly Hansen jacket and copper-framed glasses. She did not have her medications with her, including insulin for type two diabetes and her antipsychotic medication, which led authorities to list her as an endangered missing person. There were possible sightings near the Con Mine but they did not lead to her being found; the RCMP later used a drone in 2018 to search nearby woods.
Her family has expressed concern that the initial investigation lacked urgency and has emphasized that Angela was not a runaway. Her disappearance remains open. If anyone saw Angela around Yellowknife in late November 2010 or has information about her whereabouts, please come forward.
