I'm really curious if anyone else has looked into the weather conditions around Earl's disappearance. On December 12th, I remember it was particularly cold in the Winnipeg area, with temperatures dipping well below freezing. Given that Mr. Moberg was last seen wearing only a parka, I'm concerned about how the elements might have impacted him. For someone living with dementia, being exposed to severe cold could quickly become dangerous.
Does anyone know if search efforts were concentrated in areas where he might have sought shelter? I imagine finding warmth would be a priority for someone in those conditions. It’s tragic to think that a man who cared so deeply for others in his teaching years might have struggled alone in such harsh weather. Any thoughts on how often these variables are considered in search strategies for missing persons?
