On March 16, 1987, sixteen-year-old George John Myrick left Cape Pine, Newfoundland and Labrador, on a duck hunt with his father, 40-year-old Michael Myrick, and his uncle, 40-year-old Philip Finlay. The three men failed to return as expected. On March 18 their overturned boat was found about three kilometres off the southern coast of the Avalon Peninsula in St. Mary’s Bay; debris recovered included a lifejacket and duck decoys.

Michael Myrick and Philip Finlay were reportedly recovered, but George, described as medium build with blonde hair and blue eyes, was never found. He is listed as a missing person; the case remains open and his final moments are unknown.

Did anyone in the St. Shott’s or Cape Pine area remember seeing that boat or any signs on March 16 to 18 that might shed light on what happened to George?
