Lawrence Lamont Arnold Sr., 50, was found fatally shot in his Jacksonville, Arkansas, home on the 400 block of Smart Street in the early morning hours of September 18, 2024. Police responded to reports of a shooting at about 2:00 a.m.; officers discovered Arnold inside with multiple gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene despite medical attention.
Outside the home, authorities located 41-year-old Timotheus Danzy, identified as Arnold’s nephew. After an initial investigation Danzy was taken into custody, arrested on a capital murder charge, and booked into the Pulaski County jail held without bond.
Arnold, known as Googie, had moved to Jacksonville from Little Rock two weeks earlier. Born in Chicago and raised in Crossett, Arkansas, he graduated from Crossett High School in 1992 and played college football for the Arkansas Razorbacks and the ULM Indians. He is described as friendly, outgoing, and devoted to his children and family.
Anyone with information about the shooting or who knew Lawrence is asked to come forward.
