On September 15, 2024, 61-year-old Robert Dickson Sr. was shot and killed at his home on North Bernese Drive in Fayetteville, Arkansas. His son, 29-year-old Robert Dickson Jr., who lived with him, called 911 saying a verbal argument escalated into gunfire and that his father had fired a .40-caliber pistol at him before he retrieved a shotgun and returned fire.
Fayetteville police investigators reported physical evidence that did not match the son’s account. Detectives say the elder Dickson was in his bedroom closet when he was shot twice, and a pistol was found in the closet with him. Based on inconsistencies between the evidence and Robert Jr.’s statement, he was taken into custody and booked into the Washington County Detention Center and charged with first-degree murder. The case is being handled as a domestic violence investigation.
Does anyone have information about the family, the residence on North Bernese Drive, or the events that afternoon that could help clarify what happened?
