I'm still puzzled by the fact that Ronald Williamson Oxley's case didn't seem to attract more attention back in 1998. You'd think a disappearance in such a small community like Thompson would stir up more noise and prompt a bigger search effort. I mean, did the quiet nature of his errands contribute to the lack of urgency? I've read that his trip to the bank and grocery store was assumed to be routine, and it's frustratingly vague. Unfortunately, even the information about possible CCTV footage from those locations is missing. Was there none available, or was it just not reviewed properly back then? It's maddening how the tiniest oversight could leave a case cold for so long. Anyone have insight into how investigations like this were typically handled in Manitoba around that time?
