Benjamin Benjy Palluq, 44, was last seen in Iqaluit, Nunavut, on March 15, 2014, and reported missing to the RCMP on March 21. A familiar presence in downtown Iqaluit, he was often seen near Northmart and the Royal Bank. At the time he was homeless and required medication for epilepsy; friends said he may have had other health issues.

The disappearance prompted an extensive community response. RCMP and Nunavut Search and Rescue set up a temporary office while volunteers searched abandoned boats and crates and went door-to-door. Harsh winter conditions complicated the initial searches, which continued for weeks but turned up no trace. The investigation remained open as months passed without new leads; family held a memorial service in April 2016 and his sister suggested searching again after the snow melted.

If anyone who lived in or visited downtown Iqaluit in March 2014 remembers seeing Benjy or has information about his movements, please share what you know.
