Hi everyone, I've been diving into the peculiar disappearance of Robert Norman Plewes from 1984 and I'm curious about the significance of his survival gear. Packing survival tools like knives, a compass, field glasses, and two guns suggests some sort of wilderness expedition. Yet, the absence of food is baffling. Was Robert experienced enough to depend on foraging or hunting? Could his military training have influenced his decision-making here? The Algonquin Park is vast, and going in with limited sustenance seems risky. Anyone have insights on how common it is for individuals, maybe with military backgrounds, to embark on such journeys with minimal food? Or could this suggest that his intentions weren’t really about survival in the wilderness at all? Any thoughts or similar cases would be interesting to hear about. Thanks!
