Terry Lynn Brasuell, 57, was shot and killed in Alma, Arkansas, on November 4, 2023. The killing was not random: prosecutors say the shooter was Brasuell’s 27-year-old son, Cooper Wesley, who also fatally shot 47-year-old Donald Lewis during the same incident. Authorities allege Wesley suffered a drug-induced delusion that led him to believe his father had caused his mother’s death. Prosecutors say Wesley broke into his father’s gun case, took two firearms, and purchased a black Punisher t-shirt before confronting Brasuell and Lewis.
Police located and stopped Wesley on Highway 159 north of Van Buren a little over an hour after the shootings; he was arrested without incident and reportedly admitted planning and carrying out the killings. He was charged with two counts of capital murder. The case went to trial in July, and the jury found him guilty on all counts. Wesley received two consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole.
Did anyone in Alma or the surrounding communities know Terry Brasuell or the other victim and have information that could shed light on the days leading up to November 4, 2023?
