Debra Deane Richardson was 17 when she disappeared from Gimli, Manitoba, in late September or early October 1972. She had been visiting her brother for about three months and, according to his last account, was dropped on a highway to hitchhike to Winnipeg. That highway drop-off is the last confirmed sighting.

Debra, also known as Debbie, was described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, about 115 pounds, with long blonde hair and blue eyes. It is believed she was pregnant when she vanished. The case did not come to the RCMP’s attention until August 2, 1982, when a local resident reported her 1972 disappearance; investigators later treated foul play as strongly suspected but the trail went cold.

No family contact has been reported since that highway sighting and the investigation remains open. Does anyone who traveled that route in 1972 or knew Debra have information that could help locate her or explain what happened?
