On the evening of May 18, 2023, Prairie Grove, Arkansas, was rocked by a fatal shooting at a home on Sundowner Ranch Avenue. Officers responding about 10:30 p.m. found 40-year-old Cedric King unresponsive inside; he had been shot and died at the scene. Investigators say the shooter entered the residence and fired a rifle, specifically targeting King.
Authorities identified 40-year-old Cecedrice Poole as the person who entered the house and opened fire. Five other people were in the home during the shooting, including Poole’s daughter; none of them were injured. After the shooting, Poole left in a vehicle, fired at the house as a 17-year-old stood in the front yard, then crashed into parked cars a few blocks away. Witnesses saw him exit his vehicle with the rifle and run off; officers located and arrested him shortly afterward and found 26.81 grams of cocaine on his person.
The incident is described as motivated by jealousy related to the mother of Poole’s child being at the home with another man. Does anyone have information about Cedric King’s movements that night or saw the events on Sundowner Ranch Avenue?
