Kenneth Roy was 26 when he disappeared during a hunting trip in the Nepisiguit River area of New Brunswick. He was last seen on October 26, 1973, and reported missing three days later. At the time he was described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 165 pounds, medium build, with blue eyes, brown hair, a scar on his chin and visible tooth decay.
He was well equipped for the season and was wearing a blue corduroy jacket with a school crest, a reversible red and beige cap, green corduroy or denim pants, a brown pullover sweater, a Stanfield’s Summer t-shirt, white Jockey shorts, handmade grey wool socks and rubber waders. Personal items included a silver aluminum Timex watch with an expansion bracelet and a shoelace necklace with a compass.
Reports place his last known location roughly 75 to 80 miles from Bathurst, though accounts note that the Nepisiguit River area is closer to the city and suggest he may have planned to travel deeper into remote trails. The search produced no definitive leads and the case remains open.
If anyone knew Kenneth, visited the Nepisiguit area in late October 1973, or has information about his route or belongings, please share what is known.
