Pine Bluff’s streak of 112 days without a homicide ended on the night of January 4, 2023. DeMarcus Scott, 22, was found at the Regency Arms Apartments just before 11 p.m., having been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Scott was the father of a two-year-old son and was remembered by friends and family as a man trying to be a good father.

The Pine Bluff Police Department opened an investigation and soon sought one suspect. A warrant was issued for 20-year-old David Burnett on charges of capital murder and aggravated robbery; he was described as about 6 feet 3 inches and 160 pounds. On May 10, 2023, Burnett was taken into custody and booked into the Jefferson County Jail on those charges.

If anyone knew DeMarcus, his routines, or saw anything at Regency Arms on January 4, what information can be shared to help his family and the investigation?
