Has anyone else here wondered about the details surrounding the capsize itself? I mean, it's always mentioned that Alvin stood up, causing the boat to become unstable, but why did he stand up in the first place? Was he reaching for something, or did he suddenly lose his balance for some reason? The lakes in Northern Ontario can be serene, yet unpredictable with sudden wind gusts. It just seems odd that such a seasoned outdoorsman would stand up in a small boat without a reason. If any locals or historians familiar with Bouillon Lake have insights into that day’s weather conditions or typical fishing setups back in the late '60s, it might give us more context. It's those small details that sometimes lead to a more complete understanding of what happened.
