Edwin Carl Scherer, 73, was last seen on November 1, 1995, at the Cedar Point Lodge on Gordon Lake near Dryden, Ontario, while on a hunting vacation from Wisconsin. He is described as a Caucasian male, 5 feet 8 inches, about 165 pounds, with thinning grey hair, blue eyes and glasses. At the time he wore a dirty white and black bush shirt, brown hunting pants, a brown hunting vest with orange on the shoulders, an orange hunting peak cap, black gloves and hunting rubbers.
The circumstances of his disappearance are unclear. He was on a planned trip and there is no indication he intended to vanish. The Ontario Provincial Police, Dryden Detachment, is listed as the investigating agency and the case was registered under number 20060225. Few personal effects or investigative details have been publicly disclosed, leaving significant gaps about what happened after he was last seen.
If anyone was in the Dryden or Gordon Lake area in late 1995 or has information about Edwin’s trip or whereabouts, please share what you know.
