Daniel Vincent Schultz was 38 when he attended a family wedding in Chemainus, British Columbia, on May 10, 1996. He was a dual U.S.-Canadian citizen who lived in Seattle, Washington, and was last seen by family at that event. Reports say there was some contact after the wedding between Daniel and the Seattle Police Department, but specifics of that interaction are not detailed. He is described as 6 feet 5 inches, medium build, brown hair, blue eyes, wore glasses, and had a distinctive 50 mm scar on his forehead. Daniel lived with schizophrenia.
Decades passed with no further word. In spring 2026 online discussion raised a possible connection to Mount Si John Doe, remains found by hikers in June 2015 of a white male estimated to have died between 1994 and 2005; tortoiseshell glasses were recovered with the remains. That suggested link prompted at least one inquiry to the National Centre for Missing Persons and Unidentified Remains. Daniel’s disappearance remains unresolved. Does anyone who knew Daniel or who was in the Chemainus–Seattle area in May 1996 have information that could help?
