Ian Andrew Shim disappeared in 1982 while in Pereira, Colombia. The circumstances of his vanishing are undocumented publicly; the only confirmed fact is that he was last seen in the city.

There is no accessible official report or news coverage describing an investigation or outcomes, and no details indicate whether Colombia’s 1980s turmoil had any connection to his case. The most personal detail available is that his father, Aston Shim, continued to hope for Ian’s return years later, underscoring the family’s enduring loss.
