Has anyone else been following the Squalli-Housseini case? I’m trying to wrap my head around the jurisdictional issues involved. It seems like a nightmare scenario - trying to navigate the legal systems of both Morocco and the UAE. In cases like these, how does the Hague Convention get enforced? It sounds like the court orders in Canada and Morocco should have been enough, but they’ve hit a roadblock. Why is it so hard to enforce these rulings abroad, particularly when a court has already ordered the return of the children? If anyone has insights or expertise in international law, your input would be really appreciated. It’s so frustrating to hear about cases where the legal process takes a backseat, and you just feel for the family going through this ordeal.
