Hey everyone, I've been reading through the case of Igor Tikhomirov, the crew member who went overboard on that oil tanker in '96, and something that's been bugging me is the state in which they found his cabin. All of his stuff was still there, which kind of makes me think that maybe he didn't plan to leave the ship. If he had intentions of disappearing, wouldn't he gather a few essentials at least? Of course, it could mean anything, but the fact that his things were untouched suggests he might have thought he’d be back, or maybe, that he met with an unexpected accident. I wonder if anyone else finds this detail puzzling. It’s hard to believe that someone would jump with no preparation, and yet there was no clear evidence of his intent or any sign of struggle onboard. It's just one of those haunting details that makes the whole case feel so open-ended... Thoughts?
