Theodore Wallace, a 39-year-old Black man from Hartford, was shot shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, in the parking lot of the Humacao Restaurant and Lounge at 775 Silver Lane in East Hartford, Connecticut. Officers found Wallace with a gunshot wound; he was taken to a nearby hospital and died soon after arrival. The scene was described as chaotic, with a large, unruly crowd that initially prevented the first responding officer from reaching Wallace to give aid.
The East Hartford Police Department opened a homicide investigation. No suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been made. The restaurant’s liquor license was subsequently revoked after officials cited a recent escalation in police calls to the establishment. If anyone saw the parking lot that night or has information about the shooting, please share what is known with investigators.
