Cathy Lynn Williams was 21 when she disappeared after a day in Winnipeg on August 22, 1988. She left St. Andrews, Manitoba, intending to look for work and spent the afternoon and evening with a male friend, visiting bars and a restaurant. She later left to visit another male acquaintance, saying she would be back in about half an hour to retrieve her purse from his car, but she was never seen again.
Cathy is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 126 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue denim mini skirt and matching denim jacket, a yellow and red cotton shirt, and white running shoes with white socks. A letter found by her adoptive mother after the disappearance reportedly sounded as though Cathy were saying goodbye. Foul play is suspected and the case is being handled by Project Devote, a joint RCMP and Winnipeg Police Service task force.
What details do readers remember about St. Mary’s Road or the bars and restaurants Cathy was seen at on that night that might help investigators?
