It's intriguing how Ronald and Theresa's distinctive car—red VW Beetle with a green hood and fender—never surfaced. You've got to wonder if anyone out there recalls seeing it on the road back in '73. Seems like a car like that would be memorable, especially with a white kayak on top. Maybe they didn't take the route everyone assumed, or perhaps they went off-grid intentionally? I wonder about the possibility of unmarked back roads or lesser-known crossings into the U.S. that might have been used. So odd that neither the car nor any of their stuff ever turned up, especially with such a unique vehicle. Any classic car buffs here who might recall hearing stories about a Beetle like theirs?
