A fatal shooting on November 5, 2024, in the Coco Parc condominium community in Coconut Creek, Florida, claimed 19-year-old Bryce McFadden. McFadden was shot and killed outside his home in the 900 block of Lyons Road at about 5:40–5:44 PM, an incident that prompted a large police response and led authorities to urge residents to remain indoors for more than two hours.

McFadden was a recent graduate of Youth Under Construction, a school for at-risk students, and had been accepted to Atlantic Technical College; staff remembered him fondly and said he had visited the school a couple of weeks before to pick up his transcript. No arrests have been announced; the Coconut Creek Police Department is investigating and has asked residents of Coco Parc for any video capturing suspicious activity between 5:30 and 6 PM.
