On October 31, 2024, 28-year-old Mary Victoria Dino was fatally shot in the Willow Oak area near Mulberry, Florida, during a dispute between rival gang-affiliated individuals. Dino was a passenger in a vehicle driven by her boyfriend, 34-year-old Jose Coronado. An argument between Coronado and 35-year-old Joshua Clark escalated when Coronado reached into the vehicle for a firearm; the gun accidentally discharged and struck Dino in the chest.
After the shooting a gunfight broke out between Coronado and Clark. Coronado drove Dino to Pine Grove and Ryals roads, placed her in the tailgate of a truck and instructed others to take her to the hospital, then fled because he had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in a methamphetamine trafficking case. Polk County deputies later located Coronado’s vehicle about 20 miles away and arrested him after a pursuit ended with a PIT maneuver; Clark, known as Chop, was arrested later the same day. Both men are described as involved in the meth trade and linked to a so-called cranker colony.
Mary Dino died at the hospital from her injuries. Are there witnesses or nearby residents who saw the confrontation or the vehicles involved?
