Adalberto Wagner Garrido, 58, was shot while sleeping outside a dentist’s office at 1141 Palm Avenue in Hialeah, Florida, in the early hours of July 12, 2024. Miramar police found him with a gunshot wound to the head; he was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center and died on July 19, 2024.
Detectives reviewed multiple surveillance videos that showed the shooter approach Garrido as he slept and fire a single fatal shot to the head at about 1:30 a.m. Footage identified the suspect as 27-year-old Mohammed Rajaie Ali fleeing in a black 2011 Ford Mustang convertible. Other clips show Ali at his North Miami Beach apartment complex holding a dark-colored revolver shortly before the killing, and behaving suspiciously near an elevator while pointing a gun toward the ground.
Ali was arrested on July 19, 2024, and was being held in the Broward County main jail without bond, with a Miami-Dade hold on a first-degree murder charge. The motive and any relationship between Garrido and Ali remain unclear. Does anyone have information about Garrido’s movements that night or about the black Mustang seen leaving the scene?
