Brittney Mesah Dixon Young, 36, was shot outside a home on North Lockwood Meadows Boulevard in Sarasota on February 2, 2024 after an argument and later died at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Authorities identified and arrested Terrell Donald and charged him with second-degree murder.

Brittney was a licensed practical nurse and a mother of three sons who had planned to expand healthcare access in her community. Family and friends remember her for a loving spirit and dedication to those closest to her. Services were held privately.
