Tony Ross III was 24 when he was fatally shot on October 14, 2023, at an apartment complex in Orange Park, Florida. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says the killing occurred during a drug deal that escalated into a deadly armed robbery, linking Ross’ murder directly to illegal drug activity and gun violence.

In May 2024, two men — 20-year-old Rida Hicks and 30-year-old Kevin Bush — were arrested and charged with murder and armed robbery in connection with the shooting. The case has been cited by local commentators as an example of how unpredictability and greed during drug transactions can produce fatal outcomes.

Anyone with information about Tony Ross III, the shooting on October 14, 2023, or activity at that Orange Park apartment complex is asked to come forward.
