Dereck Lavon Cummings II, 31, was fatally shot on January 28, 2023, near the Carrington Park Condominiums in Casselberry, Florida. Known professionally as Antwaun Miles, he worked as a club promoter in Orlando’s nightlife scene and was a father of four with another child expected. His mother, Tuwanan Ware, said his loss was deeply felt by family and the community.

Investigators say Cummings had just finished working at LaBelle Caribbean Restaurant when two men, identified as 21-year-old Daquan Woods and 28-year-old Bobby Houston Bridges, followed his car to the condominium complex. Surveillance footage reportedly shows the suspects trailing him.

Woods was arrested on March 28, 2023, near his home in Apopka, and Bridges turned himself in on April 2, 2023. Both were charged in connection with the attempted robbery and murder. Vigils were held and community members continue to seek justice and remember his contributions to the local entertainment scene and his family. Does anyone have additional details about Cummings’ final movements or the surveillance footage cited by investigators?
