A late-evening dispute at a billiards bar in Albany, Georgia, ended with the death of 36-year-old Lorne Niel Odom. On October 4, 2024, police were called to Break Time Pub & Billiards on Palmyra Road at about 10:32 p.m. and found Odom in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his back. He was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a physical altercation inside the bar. Odom reportedly escorted 53-year-old Michael Nix from the establishment; Nix is alleged to have produced a firearm, pursued Odom, and fired a shot that struck him in the lower back. Authorities arrested Nix and charged him with felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He was booked into the Dougherty County Jail.
If anyone was at Break Time Pub & Billiards that night or has dashcam or surveillance footage from Palmyra Road, please share what you know.
