A Newnan community lost a young woman on a Friday evening when 28-year-old Olivia Faith Robinson was found dead inside Oz Tactical, a gun, knife and ammunition store on East Court Square. Emergency responders went to the store around 9:20 p.m. on September 20, 2024, after calls that escalated from an unknown problem to shots being fired; officers discovered Robinson with a fatal gunshot wound.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation took over the inquiry and identified 38-year-old William Brannon Owens, the store owner, as a suspect. Robinson and Owens had been in a dating relationship for several months. An autopsy concluded Robinson’s death was a homicide, finding the fatal shot was fired from about 12 to 18 inches, and forensic testing matched Owens’ Glock 19 to the shooting; the firearm was recovered in the office where Owens had been sleeping.

Prosecutors presented evidence challenging any claim of suicide. Toxicology showed Owens was heavily intoxicated hours after the shooting, with a blood alcohol content of .157 and multiple prescription drugs including diazepam in his system. A teenage employee testified that Owens had slept in the back office that night and had given the juvenile a handgun to wear while he managed the store. Does anyone have information about Olivia’s last known movements or the relationship between her and Owens?
