On the morning of September 18, 2024, deputies responding to a 911 call about a person shot found 19-year-old DeMario Markell Jackson deceased inside an abandoned home on Pinedale Drive in Macon, Georgia. The Bibb County Coroner, Leon Jones, pronounced him dead at the scene at 10:10 a.m.; the coroner’s report listed a gunshot wound as the cause of death and authorities categorized the incident as a homicide.

Investigators processed the scene and opened a homicide investigation, but as of early 2026 no arrests have been announced and no suspects have been publicly identified. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has asked the public for any information that could help the inquiry.
