Aaron Donye Shade White, 19, was fatally shot in an apparent drive-by at the Mt. Zion Garden apartments on the 200 block of Slater King Drive in Albany, Georgia, in the early hours of August 9, 2024. He was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead around 1:35 a.m. The shooting was recorded as Dougherty County’s 14th homicide for 2024.

Police named 19-year-old Trinity Jenkins as a person of interest and later, on August 11, public booking records show Trinity O’Siris Jenkins, also 19, was taken into custody on two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and one count of Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers. Officials have not publicly tied those charges explicitly to White’s death, and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone who was at Mt. Zion Garden apartments or saw activity on Slater King Drive that night and can help clarify what happened is asked to come forward.
