Fabrice Matthew Robelin, 19, was shot dead during an evening altercation in the Lost Lakes neighborhood of Powder Springs, Georgia. The incident took place about 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8; Robelin sustained fatal gunshot wounds to the head and neck and was pronounced dead at the scene near Shipp Road. He had recently completed his first semester of college and was a 2023 graduate of McEachern High School.
The struggle began as an argument between Robelin and another teenager, 18-year-old Coledye Warnock. During the fight a gun was produced and Robelin was shot. Warnock ran to a nearby Nectar Drive home and told the homeowner he had just shot someone, which led to a 911 call. Warnock was arrested and initially charged with felony involuntary manslaughter; those charges were later upgraded to murder. Authorities also charged Warnock with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm, tampering with evidence, possession of an altered firearm, and affray.
Investigators announced arrests of six additional individuals, ages 17 to 20, in connection with the fight that preceded the shooting. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Powder Springs Police Department Criminal Investigations Division. If anyone knew Fabrice or saw what happened that evening, please share what can help the investigation.
