On the evening of Sunday, April 14, 2024, 36-year-old Gregory William Thomas was shot while seated on the front porch of a duplex on Cedar Avenue in Macon, Georgia. He was transported to a local hospital but later died of his injuries. Neighbors knew him as Greg or G Code; he worked with a cousin’s commercial cleaning business and was remembered for helping family and friends with moves, painting, yard work and attending his nieces’ school events. He was the father of two daughters, Loyalty and Amiyah.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office identified a suspect and on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, arrested 39-year-old Willie Hogabbrook at a residence on Pinedale Drive. He was charged with Thomas’s murder and held without bond. The motive has not been released.
Did anyone in the community see or hear anything on Cedar Avenue that night or have information about what led to the shooting?
