Late morning on Sunday, April 14, 2024, gunfire in Homerville, Georgia, left 25-year-old Raheem Poole dead in his front yard near Happyville Lane and Old Fargo Road. Officers arrived after a 911 call at about 11:50 a.m.; the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to lead the homicide probe.
Investigators identified several people connected to the inquiry. Phillip White, 33, was arrested on an aggravated assault charge linked to an earlier incident. Arrest warrants were issued for 19-year-old Shea Foster on felony murder and aggravated assault charges; Foster turned himself in to the Clinch County Sheriff’s Office on April 22, 2024, after being believed to be in Homerville or Jacksonville, Florida. On April 23, 2024, Roma Cooper, 34, and Lenard Perkins, 35, were arrested; Cooper was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and making false statements, while Perkins faced those charges plus tampering with evidence.
Poole’s obituary described him as a devoted son, brother, and friend with a passion for music. The investigation remained active; the case file was to be forwarded to the Alapaha Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
Did anyone in the Homerville area see or hear anything that morning that could help investigators?
