In the pre-dawn hours of April 10, 2024, deputies responded to a 911 call at 4:23 a.m. on the 3000 block of Ruark Circle in Macon, Georgia, and found Brian with multiple gunshot wounds; a deputy coroner pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Investigators tied Brian’s death to another April 10 homicide, the shooting death of Anthonio Dewayne McNeill, and identified several suspects. On April 22, 2024, law enforcement arrested 18-year-old Xalayah Nahri Green and 20-year-old Peair Dennard Harvey at a Tredway Drive residence. A third suspect, 17-year-old Julio Angelo Timley, was arrested April 30, 2024. All three were charged with two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of Brian Obama and Anthonio McNeill and were being held without bond as of April 2024.
