Nathaniel James Pease, 44, died on February 13, 2024, after a shooting at his home in the 1800 block of Old Highway 27 in Trion, Georgia. Local reports and law-enforcement statements say the shooting followed an argument earlier that day and escalated into fatal violence at Pease’s residence.
Investigators identified Dakota Dodd of Trion as the suspect. Authorities say Dodd left the scene but surrendered to Sheriff Mark Schrader around 2 a.m. on February 14. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in, and local outlets reported Dodd was booked into the Chattooga County Jail and charged with murder or felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Does anyone in the Trion area have information about the dispute that led to the shooting or about Nathaniel Pease’s last day?
