NeAhmad Jayshawn Alfred, a 21-year-old Black man, was shot and killed on November 30, 2023, at about 2:26 p.m. at the Woodlands apartment complex on Gillionville Road in Albany, Georgia. Police found NeAhmad and another 21-year-old man, Tyler Marquise Graham, dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. A third person, 20-year-old Kesha Walton, survived several gunshot wounds and was taken to a local hospital.
Albany Police investigators described the incident as a shootout among a group who had arrived at the complex together in the same vehicle. Detectives used video surveillance from the scene to reconstruct the encounter and to identify people involved. Police identified 19-year-old Taverance Jackson as a person of interest and later took him into custody on murder warrants in Orange County, Florida; a 16-year-old, Wy’Travion Buchanan, was also arrested and charged with two counts of murder. The surviving shooting victim, Kesha Walton, was arrested after release from the hospital and charged in connection with the killings, with police saying video showed he was an active participant who initiated the shootout.
If anyone at the Woodlands complex that afternoon remembers details about who arrived in the vehicle or saw the shooting, please share what was seen with investigators.
