Camren Walker, 19, was found dead from gunshot wounds in a vacant lot in the 800 block of Monroe Street in Bainbridge, Georgia, on the morning of October 17, 2023. Bainbridge Public Safety called in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation; GBI agents processed the scene and an autopsy was performed at the GBI Crime Lab in Macon. The death was ruled a homicide.

On December 12, 2023, the GBI and Bainbridge Public Safety arrested 18-year-old Ebony Desean Brooks at a residence on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Bainbridge after an interview with investigators. Brooks was booked into the Decatur County Jail on charges including malice murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The investigation remains active and the case file will be referred to the South Georgia Judicial Circuit’s District Attorney when complete.
