Willie J. Willis, III, known as Juman, was 31 when he was found dead at a residence on 10 Whip O Will Lane in Georgetown, Georgia. Authorities say he sustained multiple gunshot wounds; the Quitman County Sheriff’s Office called in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to assist and an autopsy was performed at the GBI regional crime lab in Macon to confirm details of the death.
Investigators identified and arrested 42-year-old Anthony Parkman of Georgetown the day after Willis was found. Parkman was reportedly injured during the same incident and was taken into custody after his release from Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital; he was booked on charges including felony murder, aggravated assault, and home invasion. The investigation is described as active and ongoing.
Willis is survived by his mother, father, two children, and several siblings who remembered him for his smile and good manners. If anyone has information about what happened at 10 Whip O Will Lane on August 4, 2023, please come forward.
