Two fathers and business partners, 39-year-old Jason Salter and 35-year-old Kenny Guerra, were last seen in East Point on February 25, 2023. Both men failed to return home and Salter was reported missing by his brother on February 26, which launched searches by family and community members.
On March 11, two sets of human remains were found on an 8,000-acre farm in Chattahoochee Hills near the Chattahoochee River. After a lengthy identification process, the Fulton County Medical Examiner used dental records to confirm on April 15 that one set of remains belonged to Jason Salter; the other was later identified as Kenny Guerra. The Medical Examiner reported both men had been shot multiple times and their bodies burned. Salter’s Nissan Altima was recovered in a Family Dollar parking lot and Guerra’s BMW was located at a southwest Atlanta apartment complex.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is leading a homicide probe into their deaths. Few details about a motive or suspects have been released and the families remain without answers.
If anyone has information about Salter or Guerra’s movements around February 25 or the locations where their vehicles were found, please come forward.
