Jimmy Lee Bradberry Jr., 39, was found dead in his Macon, Georgia home on the morning of February 11, 2023. ShotSpotter alerted police to gunfire in the 2400 block of Monroe Avenue at about 5:47 a.m., and deputies arrived around 6:25 a.m. After seeing that a duplex had been struck by bullets and receiving no response to knocking and calling, officers did not immediately enter. A friend later climbed through a window and discovered Bradberry unresponsive in a recliner with at least three gunshot wounds. Deputy Coroner Ronnie Miley pronounced him dead at 8:54 a.m. The residence showed damage consistent with a shooting.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says initial ShotSpotter alerts gave different Monroe Avenue addresses, which contributed to the delay in locating Bradberry. Investigators continue to treat the case as a homicide; no arrests or suspect identifications have been publicly released. If anyone has information about the shooting, contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers.
