Terrell Johnson was a 38-year-old Black husband and father of three who was shot and killed at his Bolingbrook home on May 16, 2024. Family described him as the household’s pillar, working on his business that evening to provide for his wife, Kristian, and their sons Terrell Jr., 16, and 4-year-old twins Tehir and Tyree. Officers found Johnson unresponsive with apparent gunshot wounds in the 500 block of Preston Drive around 8:29 p.m.; he was taken to UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook Hospital and pronounced dead at 9:19 p.m. The Will County Coroner later ruled the death a homicide.

Police said early in the investigation the shooting did not appear random and likely involved acquaintances. Detectives made an arrest on July 11, 2024, when Carla L. Williams, 28, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder, home invasion, attempted armed robbery and other felonies. The investigation remained active and ongoing.

If anyone knew Terrell, his movements that evening, or has information about who was at the Preston Drive residence, please share what is known with investigators.
